Place steeped in history for the rest....basic welcome and no toilets and payable in cash only....It is therefore the average of the 5 stars in history and...the rest. In defense, the building is originally small and the sidewalk is sloping...I went there once (drinks) and there will be no 2nd...

Cafe Gondree is a small French cafe in Benouville next to Benouville Bridge. (Pegasus Bridge). The cafe is forever etched in British Airbourne history, Pegasus bridge, and the first House in France liberated on D-Day. A must visit for the history buff or D-Day tourist when visiting Pegasus Bridge .The museum which houses the original bridge and other areas of interest are nearby. There is ample parking opposite the museum which is but a short walk to the bridge and Cafe Gondree Lest we forget ❤️ 🌹

A high place in our history shared with the English who liberated the 1st French house on June 6, 44. You are served by the daughter of the house present that day and who is well past retirement age but who strives to welcome the many English heirs of those who died to free themselves. You might be lucky enough to see the bridge rise. Obviously a unique place...

Um característico lugar bem próximo a Ponte histórica, da segunda guerra mundial, com fotos antigas cheias de referências reais. Um dos lugares mais incríveis para saborear um bom café, tirar umas fotos e saborear um folhado tradicional com passas. Atendimento, super gentil e simpático.

First place to be liberated after pegasus bridge taken from Germans in the war Run by woman , cash only though and expensive coffee ! 8 euro for 2 cups . 25/09/2023: Nice hotel but with service that leaves something to be desired: we had reserved 6 rooms, we had 3 rooms in the hotel zone and 3 other rooms in "the house", it could be nice only there we found ourselves with 3 couples with Only 1 bathroom and 1 toilet... it's not very pleasant. In the rooms there is a kettle, which is great, except when they only provide you with... 1 sugar!! The breakfast is no longer what it used to be: very little choice, but the price remains very reasonable so we will understand the lack of choice. On the other hand, the breakfast room, which is located in a different location from the rooms, is really a problem in my opinion. Forced to go to the restaurant at the end of the street, so put on shoes, coat etc... to go to lunch... In conclusion, and despite our previous visits: we will not come again.

25/02/2024: Hello we have just returned from a 2 day weekend with my husband the hotel is very good the room is perfect just when we arrived at 10:30 p.m. in the room it was very cold the heating had not been turned on it is the only negative point. As for the correct breakfast buffet, there is nothing to say in the entire hotel restaurant, very good, varied dishes, quality service. All the staff at the glycine hotel are very friendly, we recommend this place
