Restaurant David Toutain sur Paris

Beautiful, inventive and delicious food. This is an event restaurant -- we were here for over 4 hours and loved every minute. Pacing of the meal was great, but it's a lot! Counting (amazing) breads and five amuse bouches, we were served at least 30 distinct dishes. The wine pairings are a must, each one obscure enough to feel novel, somehow atypical for the varietal or elevating already lofty food; sometimes all 3. The meal was themed, but not in a way we found over the top or gimmicky -- it all works as food. Service is among the best we've encountered in 20 years of traveling to Paris, entirely professional but warm and unpretentious, even a tiny bit sassy. Our servers patiently indulged our desire to hear it all in French, even if at times we had to ask for repeat explanations. There was no part of the meal that disappointed. We celebrated a milestone birthday here and I'll treasure the memory for years to come.

The experience at David Toutain was exceptional. The quality of presentation and flavors is truly of a very high level. Each combination has been carefully thought out: in the texture, the shape, the cooking (or not). All the elements combined offer scents that transport us and surprise us. The food and wine pairing is of course precise and carefully selected, although white wine dominates. The welcome and service was error-free, the exchange with the waiters was simple and efficient, the sommelier took the necessary time to explain and provide information on the choices. The setting is modern, subdued and cozy which only makes the experience better. The simple and relaxed atmosphere (you even have the chance to taste certain dishes with your fingers) makes you feel good there and allows you to concentrate above all on the essential: what is in the plate.

Ambiente limpo , bom atendimento e uma comida muito boa, parabéns

Cuisine très raffinée. J’avais demandé des plats sans viande. Un peu déçue d’avoir eu droit à un plat végétarien quand mes amis ont eu du lièvre. D’autant plus déçue quand l’accord de la boisson n’a pas été adapté… j’ai donc eu un plat sans boisson. Pas à la hauteur d’un 2 étoiles ni du prix payé. J’avais choisi l’accord boissons sans alcool, 150€, même prix que l’accord avec alcool mais pas le même service. La boisson n’a pas été systématiquement présentée j’ai souvent du demander ce qu’on m’avait servi. Je n’ai pas eu le sentiment d’être considérée à la même hauteur que les autres personnes de la table. Dommage on ne s’offre pas ce type d’expérience tous les jours, elle a été gâchée par l’équipe pas toujours à la hauteur.

Pour avoir fait plusieurs restaurant 1 étoile. David Toutain fut ma première expérience 2 étoiles et pour le coup je n’ai pas été déçu. Du début à la fin des mélanges de saveur et de textures. Une revisite de la gastronomie française remplie d’une véritable justesse. Le chef lui-même a pris le temps de venir nous voir à la fin du repas pour apprendre à nous connaître, ce que j’ai vraiment apprécié.

Nous avons célébré l'anniversaire de mon frère chez M. David Toutain et ce dîner fut un véritable enchantement. Tous les plats étaient excellents. Des mises en bouche étonnantes de saveurs aux différents plats d'une présentation élégante et aux alliances de goûts et textures parfaites. Ce repas restera longtemps dans nos mémoires, le lendemain nous avions encore en mémoire le goût de l'huitre-échalote- framboise,du lièvre cacao façon royale,etc, etc...Merci également aux serveurs qui nous ont permis de faire ce voyage culinaire à un bon rythme et avec attention. Un grand merci également pour la touchante attention en fin de repas pour l'anniversaire de mon frère. Bravo et merci à toute l'équipe pour ce travail exceptionnel et à bientôt j'espère.
