There is also a woman sometimes a week who sells beautiful vegetables from her garden. There are several areas to sit, depending on your tastes. And yoga classes on Monday evening! 10/09/2023: Absolutely stunning spot to camp. The owner is so helpful and kind, even rang around garages so we could get our van fixed. We preferred it to staying in the centre of chamonix as we avoided the crowds and had this lake and amazing view to come back to. So peaceful. Great for dogs and the added bonus of another lake right next door with a number of different activities. Coming back every year for sure! Great prices too.

11/09/2023: Very disappointing experience for us who do an overnight hike in a refuge every year.
Positive points: The kitchen is very good. The location is superb and so are the surrounding hikes.
Negative points: the reception was between neutral, cold or even unpleasant depending on our respective sensitivities (group of 19 people) and we had the very unpleasant surprise of discovering bedbugs in the morning, several of our group were bitten, including one child with several dozen bites. We quarantined/disinfected all our belongings when we returned from the shelter...
Price: The price seemed fair to me, except perhaps for the bottles of water (4.5 euros per 1.5 liter bottle, probably justified by the distance, it's up to you to make up your mind)
None of us expressed any desire to go back.
08/09/2023: We were a group of 6. We slept well and ate very, very well. Lots of effort in preparing the dishes. Only the sanitary facilities could be improved... dry toilets... little water... but the location is very pleasant.

30/09/2023: Very warm welcome (very pleasant staff). Regrets not having had the possibility of shower (internal problem) without discount on the price. It would be preferable to charge for showers separately as practiced in certain shelters. On the other hand, the toilets were dirty and the meals (dinner and breakfast) mediocre.
29/09/2023: One night for 3 people on September 28, 2023. Pleasantly surprised by the very warm welcome and the impeccable cleanliness of the premises and dormitories. The location is superb. The meals are succinct and the fondue recipe should be improved because it is too liquid, but we have kindly replaced it with a smoother one. We will return with pleasure to this refuge which we recommend.
