Tucked away in the charming town of St. Jean Pied de Port, this hotel is a true gem. It offers a perfect blend of beauty, comfort, and convenience. We were captivated by the property's beauty as soon as we entered. The hotel exudes a sense of thoughtful design, and every corner speaks of the care and attention to detail that has gone into its creation. Its central location is ideal, making it a convenient base from which to explore the picturesque surroundings. Our room was a haven of cleanliness and aesthetic pleasure. It was beautifully appointed, radiating a warm and welcoming atmosphere that made us feel immediately at home. The bed was exceptionally comfortable, ensuring a restful night's sleep after our day's adventures. What truly sets Maison d'hotes E. Bernat apart is the proprietor and handy-person, Matthias. His dedication is evident in the impeccable remodeling work that adds a unique charm to the hotel. It’s clear that Matthias has poured his heart and soul into this place, and it shows in every polished detail. The breakfast was another delightful experience. Served with care, it was nourishing and a feast for the eyes, perfectly complementing our overall experience at the hotel. Our visit to St. Jean Pied de Port, initially a spontaneous decision after our time in Biarritz, turned out to be one of the highlights of our trip, largely thanks to our stay at Maison d'hotes E. Bernat. This hotel is more than just a place to stay; it is a destination, promising a memorable experience to all who visit. We cannot recommend it highly enough and look forward to returning in the future.

01/01/2024: I stayed here for 2 nights before starting my pilgrimage The door was closed when I arrived, and no one responded when I rang the doorbell. Later I found out that I had to go in from the ice cream shop next door. The room and bathroom are clean and comfortable A great place to adjust to jet lag in a quiet place

26/01/2024: Excellent!!!…I had a “flette” pizza and my wife a “5 cheese” with cream, thin crust, generous toppings, really hearty, excellent value for money, a little bonus the boss is really nice …so without hesitation, absolutely recommended!!!!

17/08/2023: 10 minutes to get the attention from the waiter. Ordered a glass of bear that comes 3/4 full only. Then you are asked to pay immediately. You need to go inside to pay by card. Now? Yes, now. Not the best service, nor the price…!

09/08/2023: Very warm welcome from the staff in the bar area, the waitresses are really very friendly, and the Eguzki blonde and amber beers are very good!
