La Mare aux Canards sur Meudon

28/05/2024: Huge disappointment during our last visit. On a Saturday evening, 8 p.m. service: beef of the day not available, poultry of the day also not available. We ask the waiter if the prime rib (1Kg/1.2Kg) can be shared between 2. No problem, we are told if you don't have a big appetite. Which is the case and so we order this dish. The prime rib, which is very fatty, is served to us in a dish for 2 accompanied by 2 plates of fries/salad. We then take 2 American ices, really not great and ask for the bill. Surprise in the bill: we are charged for 2 ribs of beef, or €84 for 2. We point this out to the manager who tells us that it is normal but that the error comes from the fact that his chef did not specify it explicitly on the map. We paid but in hindsight, we believe we were “ripped off” since we only had one prime rib, with an estimated weight of 1Kg-1Kg2 and not a prime rib of 2kg/2Kg5. We have been visiting this establishment for many years and have seen different owners come and go with a level of quality that is not always equivalent. We have already been here since the last change of ownership but now I am reviewing the rating accordingly (5=> 3)

26/05/2024: Beautiful area. Delicious food. Very poorly managed service 40 minutes of waiting between starters and main courses. (Saturday May 25 at 8 p.m.)
