L'Escalier sur Fecamp

Good for oysters etc. The fish and seafood restaurant is located in the middle of the restaurant mile on Quai Blerigny at the harbor. Numerous restaurants there offer visitors almost the same specialties, with little difference in price. We had the feeling that many guests ended up here (including us) who were prevented from visiting by the "Complet" sign at the entrance to the neighboring cult restaurant Chez Nounote. In any case, L'Escalier was well attended late at lunchtime and we were warmly welcomed and served. The 12 oysters No.3 tasted fresh and very mild. The plate with large crevettes roses and whelks was also OK - although we liked the shrimp better than the snails: they were very large and tasted hard and chewy. The restaurant, with its namesake iron spiral staircase, is a good choice for fresh oysters and seafood. We found the service to be much friendlier than described in previous reviews.
