Nougat Sylvain sur Saint-Didier

Sylvain is home to a delightful family run nougat business. For a mere €2 p.p. we joined the tour (in French although I discovered later that our guide also spoke English) which has a short film introducing the firm, and their approach to nougat making (principally the combination of almonds and honey), followed by a demonstration in the factory kitchen by Phillippe, and finally a tasting. It was very interesting and felt like good value. The shop sells all their different nougat, plus honey and other treats, also has a tea room. It is recommended to book for the tour.

Like every time I come to the area I stop if it's far away to get nougat and chocolate I highly recommend it, the nougat is so good Full of different tastes, a tea room at your disposal with incredible decor, a pretty fountain, finally a nice corner for a little moment of relaxation, a pleasant little break

Great discovery: the visit to the almond trees in bloom with 1 hour of precise explanations and "within my reach in a family atmosphere;" beautiful tasting of almonds with all the necessary explanations. Very pleasant shop with a huge choice of nougats, honey, calissons. An excellent morning.
