Shu sur Paris

Everything is excellent: the dishes, the service, the place. Well done.

This is a very nice address that I can only recommend. We are in a very beautiful place with exposed beams, the atmosphere is intimate and quiet, and we are right in the middle of Paris, yet it is really appreciable. The service is excellent, the waiters and kitchen staff all take great care of us. Regarding the dishes, we leave Shu with a full stomach, it's a great experience to live, we let ourselves be surprised by the chef and there is a fairly substantial selection of sake too. Shu is a beautiful restaurant to discover.

A restaurant that lives up to its mention in the Michelin guide. Each dish is rich in flavor and fine. I really fell in love with the sashimi.

We had reserved for 8 p.m., we arrived half an hour early, the waiter immediately seated us at our table, when we made the reservation there was only the counter, which was good because we could see the kitchen working. And unlike the tables, it was the chef himself who would be with us and explain each of the skewers and plates. We of course opted for the suzu menu at €52. Appetizer, seasonal sashimi, a seasonal dish, 15 kinds of Kushiagués, tangy interlude, choice between ochazuké (green tea rice soup with salted plum) or fine Inanixa noodles to dip in a sauce light and cold soy, then dessert. We had a great time, there were couples, groups of friends and even families with children, apparently they offer children's menus. In short, I recommend that you remember to book several days in advance.

By far my favorite Japanese restaurant in Paris. The kushiague are delicious. The wine and sake selection is perfect. The chef and his staff are wonderful. And it’s the most original duck thru the little door to enter the cozy restaurant. I love sitting at the bar to watch to cooking in action. Thank you Shu for creating a little corner of Japan in Paris!

Our first supper in Paris this trip. Really delighted to have chosen it after internet sleuthing. Very cool restaurant, entered through a tiny door and down some stairs into the lower levels of a 17thC building. Super friendly service. Lovely, smart atmosphere that smelt beautiful by virtue of a large bunch of lilies. And as for the food…despite being a big fan of Japanese food I had never had Kushiague before (sitting at the kitchen counter the head chef told me its origin is as Osaka street). Super fun and delicious, every mouthful different but all delicious. Great, long established (since 2008 he told me) place that I wish we had in Bath, UK! Next time we’re in Paris we will be back.
