30/08/2024: Restaurant bon mais pas exceptionnel, des accords mets vins onéreux mais pas à la hauteur de leur prix. La qualité du service laisse à désirer (on ne peut pas goûter le vin avant de déguster, couverts et services mal placés).
24/08/2024: We made a reservation last week for lunch today. We arrive this afternoon and the restaurant says closed for holiday reasons. But why did you take my reservation then!

06/08/2024: Vous trouverez situé dans une rue calme un restaurant très chaleureux autant dans l'assiette que dans le service. Les plats de l'entrée au dessert sont copieux et littéralement délicieux. On vous offre même une liqueur à la fin du repas, que demander de plus ?

09/07/2025: We almost didn’t make it to this restaurant as L’Etage is hidden behind an old door, but we are so pleased we did. It was the highlight of our stay in Lyon and of our two week holiday in France. Guillame multi-tasks as the waiter, chef and raconteur. The food was exquisite, Michelin star worthy and we loved the choice of wines. Such an intimate space with only 6 tables and fabulous views out onto the square and fountain. We only had a 2 night stay in Lyon but learnt so much of the history from Guillame which really brought the city alive for us. We will be recommending to all our friends. Thankyou Guillame.

We had a good time as a couple, small problem, perhaps, the musical background is perhaps not adapted to the place, it's a personal choice, but dining in a gourmet restaurant, while being relaxed, that's it. This is modern cuisine...
24/01/2025: Sensational menu in 2 star quality. Very creative and innovative. Very calm and concentrated team in an absolutely open kitchen.

We can regret the need for a supplement for 1 dish out of three when the price is already high-end

We enjoyed ourselves, the dishes were generous, excellent sweetbreads with morels and a melt-in-the-mouth praline tart and let's not forget the sparkling Bugey which is worth its grattons dish.

12/09/2024: What a great restaurant! Typical French home cooking in absolute perfection. I've had much worse meals in restaurants awarded a Michelin star. The “Oeufs en meurette” as a starter, the “Poulet au ail” as the main course and the “Parfait poire” as a dessert were my menu of choice and the price was ridiculously low for the quality presented. As I said, it feels like you're a millimeter away from the Michelin star here. In short: I have rarely eaten better and am very grateful for the experience.

19/08/2024: Coming from Malta, I came to discover the beautiful French landscapes, so I stopped in Lyon, to eat in this small restaurant, rather good value for money, I had the joy of being served by Cantain, a funny waiter , pleasant and responsive, I can only recommend!

18/01/2025: If I had to recommend a restaurant in Villefranche it would be La Chapelle.
This place offers a warm and friendly atmosphere. The service is of impeccable quality. The waitresses are attentive, with particular knowledge of their ranges (wines, cocktails, menu, etc.). From reception, to order taking until payment, we feel their professionalism and kindness.
Cooking is a treat! It respects the seasons which is a real plus. Everything is perfect, the flavor combinations, the presentation and the cooking. We feel the love of cooking from appetizers to dessert where Homemade is the key word. Well done to the whole team, thank you for this time spent with you. I will come back!
16/01/2025: The place is nice, the decoration is nice, the waitresses are pleasant, they were able to adapt my dish with the cook so that I didn't have onions (allergy). The dishes are very good!
I took away a star because some dauphine potatoes were overcooked for my friends and the lemon baba was too consistent and dry, once re-cut and left to soak, it was better but we expected a better biscuit.

22/09/2024: Excellent table, limited menu of perfectly executed dishes, careful presentation. A very good mastery from starter to dessert, the recipes are spiced up with aromatics in just the right quantity, very tasty, very fresh. A cuisine with an obvious personality, which is a pleasure to taste. The 3-course menu is superb in its quality/price ratio. Very nice wine list, selective and a bit too expensive for some bottles, but we were well advised and the Burgundy was really delicious.
The setting is cozy, warm, elegantly decorated. Friendly and impeccable service.
A restaurant often recommended, and it is completely deserved.

12/12/2024: A pesar de no hablar francés, tuve una cálida recepción cuando entré. Aunque el restaurante estaba ocupado, recibí un buen servicio. Me las arreglé para pedir mi carne de su refrigerador especial. Tenía la médula ósea como aperitivo y encendieron un fuego en el hueso para el efecto adicional. La Rubia Gallega entrecôte se hizo perfectamente a medio raro. Mi hijo y yo estábamos tan llenos que estábamos muy satisfechos. Sin duda volveré de nuevo cuando visite Lyon.
