01/11/2026: A very warm atmosphere, with a wood-burning stove, excellent fondue, and superb service! In short, we had a wonderful time.
30/10/2026: First experience at Chalet, not very convincing...
The expectation: a warm and friendly place where you can relax and take your time enjoying a good meal with friends.
The place itself is a success, nicely decorated, with a chalet atmosphere and a wood-burning stove.
As for the conviviality, it falls short: we were barely seated when the menus were handed out and we were immediately expected to choose our aperitif (we didn't even have time to read the menu!)... We took our time making our selection, and the aperitifs arrived. We felt rushed to choose our main course and wine. We made it clear that we weren't in a hurry.
Of course, we hadn't even finished our drinks before the main courses were served. An opportunity to try the spritz/fondue combination... Meh.
The fondue was excellent. We asked for a little salad... The (gastronomic) restaurant offered us a bowl of supermarket lamb's lettuce for €0.99, which cost €6 🫤. The calculations are off... At that price, there are enough local farmers to serve a proper lamb's lettuce salad.
Anyway, in the same vein, €11 for a chestnut tart? We'll pass, no thanks.
To top it all off, we had to pay quickly so the waitress could close her till (I should mention it wasn't even 10 pm since we were rushing from the start).
We clearly understood we were bothering her, so we left with a bad taste in our mouths, no one to say goodbye. After the door closed behind us, the waitress still caught up with us to say hello.
Conclusion: very disappointing value for money. A shame, given its potential. It was Thursday, maybe it's better on the weekend, you be the judge...
