I've walked past this bakery several times without ever daring to go in… and frankly, I'm extremely pleasantly surprised! I got a strawberry tartlet and it was absolutely delicious! It's fresh, the pastry isn't too hard, it's just perfect. The cream on top is amazing and goes so well with the rest of the tartlet. A real treat! 🍓 I also got a pain au chocolat: the puff pastry is truly excellent, nice and crispy, and very pleasant. Plus, the staff is smiling, quick, and super friendly, which is really lovely. The only slight downside is that it's still quite pricey. But honestly, I think it's worth the price. I'll gladly come back to try other pastries! 😊

The perfectly baked sourdough bread is delicious, and contrary to what some have said here, I received a very warm welcome from Alexandre, who was incredibly friendly. And I even got a delicious sugar brioche! I'll definitely be back, again for the stone-ground bread, which I absolutely love and which goes with everything.

7.50 for a sandwich on its own at the start of the school year, that's where we're at. Almost worse than in the 11th arrondissement. The unfortunate thing about this bakery is that, while it's actually good, it's sadly the only one near the metro, making it easy to justify raising prices so drastically. Of course, they'll argue that it's due to inflation, rising costs, blah blah blah, which is obviously false since Base is opening branches within the city limits (at La Fayette, for example, where there's no problem, go ahead and raise prices, tourists love being ripped off). But in Montreuil, they shamelessly charge exorbitant prices to make a profit, and it's precisely because of this kind of business that we've reached this point of gentrification, pushing vulnerable people further out of the city center while targeting an increasingly bourgeois, "bobo" clientele who adore the "social mix" in Montreuil but wouldn't dream of setting foot in the Croix de Chavaux market to buy vegetables (because, well, it's not organic) except to have a coffee in the sun (it's a shame there isn't a matcha bar here yet). Anyway, I hope Base won't always have a monopoly on bread here, because a little bit of awareness from the chain on this issue would be asking a bit too much, I think.

I highly recommend this bakery; the service is excellent and the food is superb, whether savory or sweet.

Inflated prices and mediocre quality; either the recipe needs improvement or the prices need to be brought back into line with reality. The €4 cinnamon roll was so dry it was hard to eat without a glass of water. I felt the same way I do when I buy a €4.50 lemon tart at Paul in Gare de Lyon: disappointment and a rip-off.
