Baskawaï sur Marseille

We absolutely loved this restaurant! We were looking for something to eat and just stumbled across it, and it was the best meal of our time in France - if we had longer in Marseille we would definitely return. The squid and the duck were both delicious and some nice wine, and the prices are very reasonable as well.

My wife and I were worried at first as the only patrons at 7pm on a Monday evening. That initial feeling was unnecessary; it was wonderful. We'd never eaten Basque cuisine and our first experience here prompted my review. We were seated and given water, menus and olive tapenade. We order a delicious salad with prawns, roast pork with chirizo sauce and gnocchi with cream sauce and prosciutto. It was all delicious but legt no room for dessert. They had a unique selection of wines and fruit juices (sans alcohol). An overall wonderful experience even if lonely.

Wandering around Marseille, I think I found a wonderful restaurant where eating was truly a pleasure. We were delighted with the exquisite dish of the day and the fantastic desserts. It's a shame we discovered it at the end of our trip to Marseille; we would have come here again. Recommending a restaurant is a very personal thing, and this one is definitely one to try! Attentive and precise service.

Excellent restaurant with a warm welcome and delicious food...the grilled squid was superb, and the owner was incredibly attentive. I highly recommend it!! AB.

Excellent Basque cuisine, a must-visit!

We weren't familiar with this restaurant; we're from Moselle. Everything is there for a wonderful experience, a truly delightful culinary discovery. The daily specials are offered with great tact when we order. I ordered a fish soup, which was simply EXCEPTIONALLY GOOD.

Discovered by chance, this restaurant was a wonderful surprise! The setting is warm and inviting, the background music perfectly chosen, creating a very pleasant atmosphere. The food is simply delicious: we each tried a different dish and were blown away. A big thank you for the warm welcome and attentive service. We will definitely recommend this place!
