Nowhere else can you get lunch at this price.
If you don't feel like cooking, this is a good alternative.

The atmosphere is rather gloomy. I don't know if it's the end of the evening or the end-of-the-world vibe, but it's not very inviting. The lighting and overall look are outdated... the toilets are in a terrible state. You get the feeling that the people there aren't used to respecting others.

I went to Flunch for a meal.
But first, I had to serve myself.
Here, they don't bring you anything: they trust you. It's courageous. They give you an empty plate and watch you fill your destiny with a ladle. I felt responsible. Almost grown-up.
The dishes are there, lined up, patient. They don't seem in a hurry to be eaten. They know they'll be back tomorrow, identical, unchanging. The gratin has already had its day. The meat too. The two seem to have agreed not to surprise each other.
You move forward with your tray as you would through life: cautiously, avoiding puddles of sauce. Each step is a moral decision: fries or vegetables? Sauce or dignity? Have a little more or remain reasonable?
The vegetables are unlimited. It's reassuring. You can help yourself with a clear conscience. You eat healthily, in industrial quantities. A concept.
Around me were families, regulars, people in the know. They weren't even looking at the menu; they already knew what they wouldn't order. People don't come here to discover new things. They come to confirm what they already know.
The staff is efficient, discreet, and kind. They make you feel like you're the one cooking, which is a thoughtful touch.
When I left, I felt I'd had a good meal.
I wasn't sure exactly what I'd eaten, but I'd had a good meal.
I'm giving it three stars.
The fourth is for the self-service restaurant.
