A dream location (or a place of perdition) to discover the true atmosphere of an Estaque bistro. From the moment you walk in, you feel the authenticity, you hear the authenticity, you see the authenticity… Water ticks? No! Not NATO ticks, either! Authentic, the REAL! The PURE! The TOUGH! The one from back home! Back home? Yes, the one from the place where you're not necessarily accepted immediately, not the first time, but where you feel comfortable quite quickly. Where you want to sit down, chat a bit, then stay a while. And then come back. Often.

True Marseille conviviality... so many wonderful people... no airs and graces... the owner is a sweetheart... here, Ricard has a different flavor... the flavor of friendship... kisses from Switzerland...

In the 25 years I've lived in Marseille, this has become my favorite bar. A phenomenal atmosphere that even Guédiguian's films can't capture. People talk to each other without any fuss, except for the ones bought at the local booth. Super friendly owner with a devastating sense of humor. The place is away from the beach boulevard, and it's better that way.
