The service was okay, but the buffet offered very little choice. The maki and sushi were sorely lacking in rice vinegar, the Peking duck was swimming in a very, very thin sauce and wasn't lacquered at all, and the caramel pork was dry and coated in nothing but sugar. Frankly, it was mediocre; I was very disappointed. They have a 4-star rating; I wonder how!

I should have given it 5 stars, but what I was told was a huge disappointment. I love eating there for the frog legs, which are absolutely delicious, but one Tuesday I went to eat and there were no frog legs. I was surprised, I asked, and they told me it was only for weekend customers. This makes me think that we weekday customers are no longer entitled to the expensive dish, apparently, whereas before we were, since I only go during the week. I find this a shame. So instead of going with friends once or twice a week, I only go once a year, without any real enjoyment. I go because I like it, but without frog legs.

I travel to Nîmes often and have had the chance to try many restaurants, some better than others.
But whenever I can, I eat at Shanghai. Nothing is superfluous, the food is reasonably priced, the quality is excellent, the portions are perfectly sized, and the ingredients are always fresh.
The wok is delicious.
You won't find another restaurant of this quality for under €16 at lunchtime. And after eating, there's the digestion process, which is perfect here.
The staff is professional and attentive to your needs.
Many so-called restaurateurs don't even come close to this respectable family.

There was only one tiny counter for the buffet of starters, main courses, and desserts, plus a wok station. At first, I wanted to leave, thinking there wouldn't be anything to eat, but I stayed, and in the end, there was quite a lot. I left satisfied and not hungry.
However, be careful not to sit facing the windows where the sun shines in; my eyes hurt throughout the meal. Perhaps curtains should be considered.
