L'Ours Noir is a must-visit at the Rouen Saint-Romain Fair. We've been going there for years; the roast pork platter is very generous, and the service is quick. Perhaps adding chairs for more comfort than the benches would be a plus.

Bad experience tonight at L’Ours Noir. Once the aperitif was served, the waitress took our food order only to be told that they were out of ham hock, or we could order a €28 meat platter to get some ham hock – unacceptable. Ham hock is supposedly a tradition at the Saint Romain fair, under the pretext that the fair closes tonight. Oddly enough, at other restaurants like Chez Francine and Au Feu de Bois, the ham hocks were cooked perfectly. It's a shame, we won't be going back.

A lovely establishment with very efficient and friendly staff. As for the food, the suckling pig portion was excellent. The portions were very generous.

"I went there and I highly recommend it: it was delicious, cooked over a wood fire. It's definitely worth a visit! However, don't go too late: it gets very crowded because it's a very popular place. 🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰 And just so you know, the service is excellent."

Long wait, but incredible value for money. We were right in the heart of the funfair. The servers were overwhelmed but cheerful, the food was rich and plentiful. There was shouting, crying, and laughter. It was 100% laid-back and friendly. We shared our tables with strangers. It was joyful. In short, it was great!

Everything's there! Sure, it's noisy, but that's the Black Bear vibe. The waiter was great, the food simple but effective (and greasy 🤪).

24/02/2026: I came to this establishment several times a very long time ago, in my youth—what a pleasure! Having lost touch with my friends from back then, I wanted to relive those moments. Thank goodness the interior hasn't changed. The food a little. As for the service... I loved my crepe lollipop. However, the conflicts between the waiters were pointless. So, overall, my opinion is mixed.

28/12/2025: Excellent brasserie! Lunch for four as a family. Aperitif with a spritz, a glass of white wine, and two sodas. Two set menus (starter, main course, dessert), with a poached egg with Camembert as a starter. For the main course, chicken casserole with Maroilles cheese and homemade fries, and tarte tatin for dessert. For the children, a burger and a flank steak with homemade fries. All the dishes were delicious. Sanitation is well-maintained, and the food is both tasty and plentiful for a very reasonable price (€99.70). All this with a magnificent view of the Rouen courthouse (absolutely beautiful). Friendly and efficient service. Well done and thank you!
20/12/2025: What a view from the room overlooking the Palais de Justice! Absolutely stunning. Plus, it's right in the heart of historic Rouen, just steps from the Gros Horloge and the shopping streets. A huge thank you to the porter who carried my suitcase up to the second floor, as there's no elevator.
