A wonderful discovery at El Perú! We started with a Cusqueña Negra, an excellent Peruvian dark beer. Its alcohol content surprised us a bit, but it was very pleasant to drink. The appetizers were served with Peruvian popcorn, a nice touch that immediately set the mood. The ceviche was excellent: fresh, generous, very well seasoned, and accompanied by typical ingredients. We also tried the causa, which was very hearty and flavorful, although it was a little too salty for me; my partner found it perfect. To finish, we chose the turrón. And here's where we had a pleasant surprise: the photo on the menu doesn't do justice to what's actually served! The presentation on the plate is simpler and more authentic, but above all, the dessert is truly delicious, with its biscuits, coulis, and almonds. Personally, I much prefer this version to the one pictured on the menu. The service also deserves a mention: the person who looked after us was charming and attentive. The manager came to our table several times to make sure everything was alright and took the time to chat with us about her cuisine and our discovery of Peruvian specialties. This was particularly appreciated. Generous, authentic, and flavorful Peruvian cuisine, served with great care. A very good experience and a place we will gladly return to.
