O’moules Frites sur Istres

The food was really good, but the portions were too small. They were like baby food. Nevertheless, the customer service was excellent, and we enjoyed our time there. I recommend it.

Passing through Istres, I discovered this restaurant for the first time. The atmosphere was pleasant and calm. With only 20 seats in a small space, it felt a bit crowded, and you could hear conversations from neighboring tables and vice versa, which might bother some people. The service was a little slow, but the staff were friendly and helpful. As for the food, I had the €57 set menu. Everything was delicious and beautifully presented; it was very enjoyable. However, the price is still high compared to other restaurants of the same standard that I frequent. The only downside was the bread: a basic white baguette. A small, sporty, Nordic, multigrain, or fig/walnut roll would be a wonderful addition to these excellent dishes. I would gladly return.

We were at the restaurant that day, September 15, 2026, at 8:30 p.m., seated with my partner just two tables away from the family in question. We therefore feel compelled to share our experience, as the published reviews do not at all reflect what we witnessed. Upon our arrival, the restaurant's atmosphere was calm and pleasant. Very quickly, our attention was drawn to the crying and screaming of a young child. Subsequently, the child began repeatedly and quite loudly hitting the table with various objects. The chef and owner of the restaurant intervened with great calm, courtesy, and respect. He never made any inappropriate or aggressive remarks. He simply asked the parents if it would be possible to stop the child from continuing to hit the table and kindly suggested they take a short walk outside so the child could get some fresh air and calm down. The family's reaction was unfortunately disproportionate. Instead of trying to talk to them or understand their request, they became upset and decided to leave the establishment. Before leaving, they loudly declared, "We're leaving because apparently we're disturbing the other customers." However, at no point did the chef claim that this family was disturbing other customers. His request concerned only the noise caused by repeated banging on the table and aimed to ensure everyone's comfort in an establishment of this caliber. We would also like to clarify that the situation never escalated into physical altercation. Contrary to what some comments may suggest, there were no violent acts or physical altercations. Regarding the food, we regularly dine in restaurants in the area and can confidently say that this establishment is among the best in Istres. The dishes are refined and carefully prepared, the service is professional, and the welcome is always warm. The chef shows great respect for his clientele and deserves to be judged on the remarkable quality of his work rather than on reviews that do not reflect the reality of the facts we have observed.

I'm responding to the last two reviews, which are literally lies! My wife and I were there, and the owner simply and politely asked if their baby/child could stop banging on the restaurant furniture and stop shouting for the sake of the staff and other customers. This is an exceptional place, a model of good manners and etiquette. The food is divine. Consider yourselves lucky that a restaurant of this caliber exists in Istres and welcomes everyone (including children). Instead of leaving bad reviews, refrain from doing so or manage your children in such places. This isn't McDonald's or some local brasserie. Don't trust these Google detractors; their behavior is petty!

A true gem! We thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The menu is intentionally short, with few choices but everything is homemade, using high-quality ingredients sourced directly from producers, and bursting with flavor. Everything is refined, indulgent, and perfectly executed. The owner is lovely, very friendly and passionate, and the service is equally pleasant and attentive. Excellent, authentic, and flavorful cuisine. We highly recommend it! 😍👏

A wonderful discovery for our first experience at this restaurant; we left delighted. The ingredients were excellent, fresh, and sourced locally. The dishes were beautifully presented and refined, a true delight for the taste buds, with impeccable service. We highly recommend it.

MASTERCLASS. The osso buco was superb, and the little stuffed bull meats were just as good. I highly recommend it.

What a fantastic find! This restaurant had a delicious osso buco. Definitely worth trying!
