Amazing restaurant, very kind waiter and chef

Honestly, "La Cale" (The Hold) lives up to its name; not only was I filled to the brim, but I also thoroughly enjoyed my meal. The atmosphere was fantastic, the service was impeccable and very professional, and the flavors were spot on. My wife and I will definitely be back.

We'd been dreaming of discovering this place for ages (it's best to book in advance, which we did 😉). After a warm and lively welcome in a very pleasant bistro setting, we thoroughly enjoyed everything from the amuse-bouche to the coffee: perfectly prepared fresh ingredients, perfectly cooked, generous portions with plenty of sides 😋 and the signature dessert... 🎉❤️ Don't change a thing! Thank you for this wonderful evening.

Old-fashioned atmosphere, excellent fresh cuisine. A shame the service was professional but less friendly! Following up on your response to my review: 'Thank you, sir, for your prompt reply. I would like to clarify that we were only in Dieppe for 48 hours, and the children enjoyed the beach a little longer, hence our delay. We called to let you know and apologize! Your restaurant was highly recommended to us for the second time. We always prefer restaurants with character, whether we're dining with children or not. However, the children didn't express any strong feelings; the youngest, who is 4, is perhaps more spontaneous. We didn't ask to be served any faster; in fact, the dishes arrived almost simultaneously with the drinks, which was a tad too quick.' But the downside is the lack of a simple explanation on the menu... In fact, when I asked if the ravioli had a mild enough chili pepper for children, the woman replied "as it says," and at the end of the meal, not a word to ask if we were satisfied. Reading your comments, I see that you're not bothered by the idea that the experience wasn't entirely satisfactory for us; on the contrary, you're taking the opportunity to tell us that we weren't being respectful of each other—the audacity that accompanies French cuisine, no doubt... I'm only half surprised; we live in an age of censorship, and I immediately understood that the young child and the child were already a sensitive subject for you! No hard feelings, and all the best.

Excellent experience with fresh, locally sourced, homemade dishes. A real treat for the palate and excellent value for money. Our little sailors thoroughly enjoyed the generous portions. Well done to the team!
