Determined never to be seen as stingy, this place will beckon you the moment you step inside. And as soon as you've parked the car and dismissed my chauffeur, you'll discover a place that never fails to charm, and is certainly not averse to simple pleasures.

We had lunch for a business meal. The setting, with its vaulted ceilings, is magnificent. The set menu (starter and main course) was excellent. Refined and perfect value for money. The staff were very friendly. I will definitely return.

A classic restaurant decorated with bullfighter costumes and bare tables. Great for both family celebrations and romantic dinners. Good service and a huge wine list, although the waitress didn't even know which wines were local. The meat was cooked well, and the cod was a bit dry for my taste. Fair price, and I would go back.

A magnificent spot opposite the Arena, perfect for taking your time and enjoying a pleasant meal. The only downside is the slightly high price.

A pretty decent, bullfighter-themed atmosphere, and the staff was nice. The prawns/shrimp were terrible—dry and flavorless. I only took two bites, and the bland rice and carrots didn't enhance the dish. The place seems rough and damp, as some say. But there was a very impressive display of empty wine bottles above the bar. The wine was good. Response - Thank you for your reply. I loved the restaurant's interior, the decor, the ceiling 😍 The service was impeccable, fast, friendly, and welcoming. The food was delicious, the rare beef was perfect!

A must-visit! The true Brasserie spirit, with a capital "B." A place for conviviality and sharing the Nîmes lifestyle, created by Mr. Michel Hermet, winemaker and president of the French Sommelier Association. Excellent home-style cooking, a quality wine list, and a beautiful setting with its stone vaults and works of art. A place dedicated to the pleasure of living.

Where you live, is there 1 restaurant that everybody needs to visit at least once❓ I couldn't name 1 in Barcelona. I mean I have my favorites, but I'm sure they're not my wife's or my neighbor's. And nobody will ever tell you that you've never been to BCN if you haven't visited 1 specific restaurant. Nîmes is way smaller so there's less offer. Still, I was amazed by the number of people I met in very few hours who recommended Le Cheval Blanc (@wine.bar.nimes). Basically everybody we talked to. 😳 Maps not so much, though. 🤔 We didn't know where to go for dinner so we decided to give it a try. I loved the atmosphere, between that of a traditional brasserie and a 🍷 wine cellar. Makes sense cause this restaurant also is a wine bar. I don't drink wine so that part was not of my interest, though. 😅 We shared some snails 🐌, eggs mayo 🥚, and a charcuterie board 🥓, then we all had a main. I chose the lentils and ham hock. Actually I was about to order the tartare but my wife suggested I had the lentils and I thought, yeah, why not, for a change. 🤷 I think that was a mistake cause I didn't find the lentils super flavorful and the meat was good... for the parts I could taste cause it was mainly skin. I love crispy pork skin. Fluffy gelatinous pork skin not at all. My wife loved that dish. I did not. 😐 She had a steak 🥩 that was well cooked, tasted ok (not great) but wasn't so tender. My son had 🐖 pig's trotters. Do you know many kids who eat snails as a starter and pig's trotters as a main dish? 😂 He seemed to like them. Then we shared 1 dessert: a baked Alaska (and it was baked Alaska day! 😇). It was ok. In general, IMO, everything was just ok. Even the service. I mean, they were nice but pretty slow and they literally forgot us after the mains. 🙄 We paid €35 each (no wine). Basically as much as for lunch but the type of food we had wasn't the same at all. Pig's trotter, eggs mayo, lentils aren't exactly fancy dishes... So I find it a bit pricey... 👎 That was an ok experience. Not more, not less. In Nîmes, there's only one restaurant, brasserie, and bar that's truly unique: the Cheval Blanc Wine Bar Restaurant. The wine?
