Simply the best bread in the world. During the holidays, I cycle 10 km every morning just to get here—that's how good it is. We discovered this bakery while having dinner at Axel in Fontainebleau: the bread served at our table came from their bakery. Everything is sourdough, made the old-fashioned way, with traditional flours. The pastries are light and delicious. This place is definitely worth a visit.

Arriving by chance due to detours, I made a quick stop that I didn't regret at all. A true culinary delight. Plus, they use organic flours and sourdough bread. Everything was delicious and the taste was truly incomparable. And I'm quite used to sourdough! I'll definitely make a detour next time I'm in La Chapelle!

I stayed in Recloses for a few days and had the pleasure of meeting the lovely owner of this boulangerie whilst visiting to pick up some delicious bread. She told us about the bakery’s process (creating their own starter from scratch instead of using pre-made yeast) and also some history on this charming little village. She was so kind and welcoming. You can tell that a lot of love, passion and thought goes into this boulangerie. Merci beaucoup!
