It's really great, not too expensive and you want to eat everything!

I highly recommend this establishment. Excellent welcome, fantastic terrace under the trees. Delicious homemade terrine, and very high-quality meat.

The restaurant Au Coup d'Frein is located in Tannerre-en-Puisaye in a former half-timbered building. A lovely shaded terrace is situated at the rear of the establishment. The menu offers dishes such as calf's head, andouillette sausage, venison shank with Irancy ratafia, and meat and fish dishes depending on availability. Two very affordable set menus are also offered, including a daily special. The portions are generous and the value for money is excellent. We chose the calf's head with gribiche sauce, which was superb, and for dessert, the Coup d'Frein ice cream sundae, made with red berries: a real treat! A very good restaurant, both for the quality of the food and the friendly welcome. Be sure to book ahead, as the restaurant is often busy.

Friendly welcome. Pleasant setting. Calf's head swimming in sauce. The sauce redeemed it. Canned vegetables. Good meats with decent sauces. Mediocre desserts. Tasteless decorative tomatoes—of course, they're not in season! Overall, mixed feelings.
