Au Lion d'Or sur Rosenau

Very tasty meal. Efficient operation. Perhaps not pleasant due to the language barrier. A bit impatient. They speak French and German and some English.

Extremely disappointed with the value for money, quite honestly... A menu at 46€ not very exceptional, I expected much better. Melon/ham starter not very elaborate, and main course 3 falafels on a bed of salad. The exterior setting is very pleasant however. I can't give more than 3 stars. Read other reviews and test to form your own opinion, but ask yourself the right questions. I won't go back there myself, too expensive.

Superb terrace, very generous menu at €76 and the dessert was excellent... a pleasant, discreet experience. Thank you for this beautiful moment.

Très bon repas autour des asperges puisque nous étions en pleine saison, le chef marie toujours aussi bien les goûts et les textures... c'est une valeur sûre sur la région quand je reviens depuis la Suisse, très belle carte des vins avec beaucoup de choix. continuez comme ceci avec votre équipe !! et bel accueil.

Incredible and delicious! Definitely a MUST!

It is a great pleasure to be able to eat in a restaurant that offers typical French cuisine so close to the border with Switzerland and Germany. The hosts are extremely friendly, the food is really tasty and the wine list has a large selection of great French wines from the local area and further afield.

It’s a special story that unites us with Le Lion d’Or. It's a bit as if we had taken a long journey of 20 years and we returned to the inn as if time had remained frozen...the Baumlin Family is still there preparing the new generation [the 5th for all of you say]...In short, we walked through the door with a little pang and were greeted by the Boss, a symbol for us. The menu was springtime with asparagus, morels, rhubarb and strawberries. What happiness! The cuisine is authentic and without fuss, as our table neighbors also felt. Good choice of wines and excellent value for money but is it really important to mention it? Not really, to be honest! We left the restaurant accompanied by the Owner and we promised not to wait another 20 years...good luck to the whole family 🫶

Nous avons dine pour la premiere fois dans cet etablissement figurant dans le Bib Gourmand 2024 du Guide Michelin. Tres belle salle de restaurant, plats gouteux et tres bien presentes (menu a moins de 40€ excellent proposant des asperges en entree, un risotto de legumes frais au parmesan et une tarte a la rhubarbe). Les vins sont de qualites. Un Gewurtz VT de la maison Bott a Ribeauville propose en aperitf absolument remarquable. Leger bemol… la qualite de l’accueil… peu chaleureuse et expeditive de la part de Mme Julie Baumlin… l’impression d’ensemble reste tres bonne.
