28/03/2026: Drawn in by the good reviews, we went… but our feelings are rather mixed.
I wouldn't say it's bad, but it's definitely not exceptional. The food is simple, lacking any real interest or character. The spring rolls are bland and still wrapped in cellophane, which isn't very appealing. The nuoc-mâm sauce is very, very thin and frankly tasteless. The noodles had a microwaved texture, and the chicken was full of cartilage. The caramel pork was okay, but it too had cartilage, little sauce, and was generally quite bland.
The price-quality ratio is still acceptable: it's not very expensive, but the quality suffers. As for the atmosphere, it's very canteen-like: nothing truly unpleasant, but the decor is very neutral, rather impersonal, in fact.
Having lived and worked in Paris for years, I can say it's a very typical Vietnamese restaurant, the kind you find everywhere, with nothing that really sets it apart. It's okay for a quick meal, but definitely not a place we'd want to return to or recommend. It's a shame, because with a little more care and generosity in the dishes, the experience could be completely different.
10/02/2026: The Mi Quang isn't bad, even if the recipe isn't typical. I would have preferred less soup in the dish, though.
