Careful cuisine and impeccable service, I like to go there regularly, the terrace is very pleasant, with its small fountain.

Adorable 🥰 The food is good, the service is super fast, and the staff are lovely. You can go there with your eyes closed! The little extra: the outdoor fountain, a feast for the eyes and ears.

Nice cosy rooms with a small modular bathroom. Clean, with Aircon although rooms on the back suffer from ducting noise.

I must confess to being intrigued by the existence of a hotel-restaurant in a town of barely 1,000 inhabitants. It's rare enough to arouse curiosity. That day, after a long day in 38°C (100°F) heat, I decided to treat myself to a break—a break from the hustle and bustle of work, a quiet night. The perfect opportunity to test the establishment from every angle: quality, welcome, cleanliness, service... and patience. The idea seemed promising: a hotel with an integrated restaurant, menus at €18.50 and €36, in an area with no immediate competitors. At a rough guess, the clientele must range from tired salespeople, hikers or cyclists, to those in search of a bit of Charente greenery. And the surrounding trails are well worth the detour. As usual, I donned my Inspector Columbo costume: wrinkled, distracted, notebook in hand to jot down anything that doesn't deserve to be said out loud. This ploy allows me to probe the human soul behind the facade of smiles. Alas, this time, I didn't have to dig very deep. My questions about local activities met with only polite silence. Choosing a €18.50 menu seemed to dampen the mood, as if I'd asked for a glass of water in a whisky bar. The sirloin steak, ordered rare, arrived with a Roman tile. I pointed this out with a smile; I was promised a word with the cook, somewhere in the kitchen, or in the afterlife. The highlight of the meal was the cheese plate, served with a vaguely funny—or condescending—remark, depending on the mood of the day. I smiled at it, out of politeness. I frequent both open-air cafés and Michelin-starred establishments. I simply expect them to respect a simple rule: to serve is not to submit, but to welcome. And the customer, for his part, is not a king, just a passerby. It is in this equality that resides the only star that matters to me: that of humanity. At the Auberge des Lacs Bleus, I loved the cool shade and the lapping of the fountain. But what was missing was what nothing replaces: the warmth of the gesture. Clothes, clearly, don't make the man.

Small, unpretentious hotel and restaurant. Very comfortable and well-equipped room. We did not try the restaurant.

We had lunch in the restaurant and it was very good. Menu of the day, the bottle of wine was extra.

A warm welcome and excellent service! The staff were attentive and welcoming! Thank you to the chef for the delicious food, a delight from starter to dessert! The meat is excellent, cooked perfectly, and the fries are succulent. A great first experience that I'll happily repeat!

With a warm and friendly welcome, excellent cuisine, and a particularly bucolic outdoor space, with tables arranged around a refreshing fountain (the indoor dining room is also very pretty and welcoming), this establishment is a must-visit in the region. I recommend it without reservation.

I highly recommend this establishment, ideally located and offering a beautiful setting. It's a particularly welcoming place, with a children's play area. The staff is professional and attentive, and the cuisine is exquisite and generous. The expertise is evident. All for a more than reasonable price. The children loved it; we will definitely be back.
