Crossing the verdant plains and rugged hills of Normandy, I stopped at Ypreville-Biville, drawn by the reputation of this renowned inn. My horse, weary from the long journey from Fécamp, found rest nearby, while I entered the enticingly fragrant dining room, ready to put the establishment and its cuisine to the test. I ordered a tiramisu, for as a knight in His Majesty's service, sent on a mission throughout the kingdom, I allow myself only the very best. The inn's servants presented the dessert to me with care, and I began my meticulous inspection: first, the aroma of freshly ground coffee, which awakened my senses, then the perfect texture of the soaked ladyfingers, neither too soggy nor too dry. The mascarpone, smooth and creamy, melted delicately on my tongue, revealing a subtle balance of sweetness and bitterness. Each bite was pure delight. The harmonious layers prompted me to exclaim, pounding my fist on the table in a gesture of joy and astonishment at such mastery. My companions present dared not interrupt me, for they knew I was a discerning palate, whose judgment was recognized even at the court of Philip Augustus and among the lords of Rouen and Caen. I also noted the care taken with the presentation, reminiscent of the banquets of nobles of old, and the subtlety of the aromas, evoking the fertile lands of the region, from the orchards of Yvetot to the hills of Fécamp. Every element testified to a respect for the terroir and time-honored expertise, worthy of an establishment that honors Norman traditions. I left the inn, my palate satisfied and my spirit joyful, ready to continue my adventures across the kingdom, carrying in my heart the memory of a tiramisu that would grace any royal banquet. Addendum and correction to the register of my present statement: I then amended my statement, not as an excuse, but to clarify for the innkeeper the origin of the term I had used. In my region, every dessert made with sweet cream has a different name depending on the region and fiefdom. Thus, the word I used, originating from ancient lands known to my peers, designated nothing other than a sweet creamy dish that I desired. Let it be known, therefore, that there was no error in my words, but only a difference of language between provinces of the kingdom.

Excellent, delicious, and friendly – ​​we have nothing but praise for this restaurant and its lovely owners. Everything is homemade with love, taking you on a culinary journey from Normandy to Scotland and Ireland. We will definitely be back.

What a wonderful and warm experience! We had fresh veggie salad, delicious dinner, yummy dessert (& coffee), and couldn’t pass up the local meringues!!! Great prices for locally sourced ingredients. Not speaking of the wonderful owners that built this place from the ground up (oh, and btw they speak English). Thank you for an amazing experience during our last night in France.

While passing through the region, we ate at the Auberge d'Ypreville. Christine's welcome was extremely warm. She takes the time to explain the origins of the homemade dishes, which are excellent. The local beer is very good, and the homemade dessert deserves a special mention 👍👍😋 The meringues are also very good, despite the motorbike ride! We recommend making a detour to eat at this inn.
