Restaurant busy during dday but not too crowded

A great moment during the festivities, we met very friendly and adorable owners. The welcome was more than perfect, a very pleasant place, the dishes generous and very good. A real moment of happiness twice. I highly recommend this restaurant. For my part I will return there. Don't change anything about your way of being.

We came during the D.Day anniversary on June 5 and it is always a great pleasure to come to the John Stell with reservation of course. There was a change of ownership since our last stay and we did not find the atmosphere and decoration in homage to these 80 years. If the photo frames remained, no garland of flags, no decoration on the tables which had red and white checkered tablecloths even if the Covid was there. Just for the time of the ceremonies it would have been a little more authentic with the name of this restaurant which is prestigious. The service was very pleasant with the two people who took care of us. The catering went well with an andouillette with Camembert sauce 👌 and others. At the checkout the smile was more difficult even if indeed not all the people are necessarily friendly, I think that we were smiling and a commercial return in this sense would have been well received. I don't know if we will come back because we missed the decoration and the atmosphere, there was so little to do to find ourselves in 1944. Thank you to the whole team for your professionalism which does not come into account with the decoration of course

L'accueil est parfait de même que le service en salle, seul bémol ,la carte est très petite 4 entrées et 4 plats . Et si vous prenez le steak, il est fondant a souhait... Par contre, l'accompagnement pommes frites laisse franchement à désirer, trop grasses, la coupe est trop fine et elles sont trop cuites. Dommage , car le reste était parfait.

A hidden gem in St Maire Eglise, named after the paratrooper who got stuck on the church spire in WWII. Service is genuinely friendly and welcoming. The food is excellent. We had a baked seabass and a tuna dish, all very well prepared and delicate dishes. The desert of the day, tarte Normandie was fantastic.

Very warm welcome despite our early arrival due to a heavy downpour!!! The oysters are delicious, the slow-cooked lamb superbly cooked and tasty. Moet champagne very good value for money €55.90!!! We will return to this beautiful family inn 🫶
