The first rooms lack connection with the visitor, but then we are invited to find the influences and similarities between Van Gogh's artworks and his past and future influences. The symbolism of the root is magnificent... I won't say any more.

Magnificent castle with beautiful gardens

Not large, but rich in discoveries about the link between the castle, the landscape and the connection with the town of Auvers-sur-Oise.

Beautiful garden. It's a shame we couldn't visit the inside.

The walk around the park is very limited in area, and the exterior stairs have no handrails, which is annoying for elderly people.

I visited on a weekend. It was quiet, as it was late January, during the off-season. The castle is closed during the winter season, so you can only stroll around the gardens and the castle exterior. The sunset view was beautiful, and the location on a sunny day was fantastic. I would like to visit in the summer as well.

The castle itself is currently closed to visitors. Only a small exhibition on the castle's history is on display in the orangery. It's a shame that this isn't mentioned on the castle's website.
