A great local bar with friendly staff and good food. We enjoyed a few visits during our stay in Nansouty, it’s seems to be a popular local spot and great for a relaxing drink
This was the only one of the two bar/brasseries that we visited in Place Nansouty, because their patio had a bigger covered patio. We liked the place so much we went back a number of times. The staff was super friendly and relaxed but efficient. Jade, in particular was a waitress we got to like a lot.
The food was good, although the menu was a little limited, we found. Prices were great, though and we found that the other customers around us were easygoing enough to engage us in conversation, especially once they found out we lived in Quebec.
All in all, the Bar Nansouty was an excellent spot to relax and watch ordinary Bordeaux life move and evolve before your eyes – especially at rush hour
A fan of Luis (the former boss), it was difficult to enjoy going back there. The tables are super tight, the prices have soared, closing on Sundays and throughout the month of August after two months of opening... the intention is to make money and not to keep the neighborhood alive as before... equivalent of a Parisian brasserie... in Bordeaux... there is no more soul but it does the job because the terrace is pleasant (when there are not the barnums...)
