A very pleasant lunch this Wednesday at the Marie Blachère bakery in Carvin: an almost impromptu stop. Nothing really suggested I'd be stopping there today… and then, thanks to a conference in this small village and a break that turned out to be strategic, the storefront did its work. Welcoming, generous, almost persuasive. Once inside, the selection is vast, enough to make you seriously hesitate before deciding (which is always a good sign). Personally, I took a good 5 minutes, but I didn't feel judged for taking the time I needed for my stomach. Spacious parking, easy access: you can tell that everything is designed so that even a quick break becomes comfortable. Special mention for the service: warm, simple, efficient. And that little detail that makes all the difference: the sandwich served hot, perfectly crispy. The icing on the cake: a free drink with the sandwich thanks to a current offer. A thoughtful touch that transforms a typical lunch into a pleasant surprise. One small drawback, though (because there has to be one): the lasagna looked so tempting… but the molds to make it weren't available. A minor frustration, but noticeable enough to mention with a smile. In short: an impromptu break that turned into a delightful surprise. I highly recommend it, of course.

I ordered a ham and cheese pizza. I ate it, and when I got to a certain point, the taste was awful. So I had to cut the pizza to get rid of the tormented, woody taste. DON'T ORDER PIZZA!

My favorite: the Marie baguette, of course! I buy it in bulk and freeze it… to get it back to its perfect crispness. I take it out of the freezer and pop it straight into the oven at 160°C for 10 minutes! Excellent!!! Not to mention the pastries, all delicious… Thank you to Audrey and Adeline (and everyone else too) for their smiles and good cheer.

Bought a frangipane galette des rois, very good!! However, the crown is for children 😏😏!! Needs improvement
