Cafe De La Paix sur Bourg-Saint-Maurice

I love the place, but the person behind the bar on Saturday seemed bothered by having customers, and then, in a moment of weakness, I had the nerve to ask the price of a pint... The person in question completely lost it, yelling and showing me chalkboards that listed some prices, but not the price of a pint. So apparently, asking a price is unacceptable, and on top of being verbally attacked, I was supposed to sympathize because she was about to tell me how awful her day, her life, her customers are... I just came for a drink...

Stopped for a drink after skiing, lovely to sit out in the sun with a glass of rosé for only 3€!!

If paradise were a bar, it would undoubtedly be Café de la Paix. Affordable prices, quality service, and a consistently great atmosphere. Not a night goes by that I don't dream of going back. Shout out to Mika, whose professionalism is the best the industry has to offer.

Nice place, clean, simple and effective food, finally burgers where you can choose how you want them cooked, fast food option, decent daily menu. Good value for money, pleasant team.

We whiled away an hour or so at lunchtime in this lovely bar enjoying a couple of glasses of wine. We've visited several times over the years, as it's a quaint and welcoming place to spend time, especially as it's on the corner at the top of the cobbled street, which on a sunny day is a proper sun trap. The prices are very reasonable and the welcome also warm. If the locals frequent a bar, you know that it will be good. We didn't eat, but could see that there were options to do so, albeit it limited.
