11/05/2026: I recently discovered La Route du Kashmir, and the experience far exceeded my expectations. From the moment you arrive, the restaurant exudes a warm and exotic atmosphere, but what immediately strikes you is its magnificent terrace with an incredible view of the Seine. In the evening, the ambiance becomes almost magical: the calm of the water, the lights reflecting on the river, and the aromas of spices wafting from the kitchen create a truly unique moment. It's the kind of place you come to for dinner but end up staying for hours simply to soak up the atmosphere.
As for the food, it's undoubtedly one of the best Indian restaurants I've tried in the region. The dishes are prepared with great care and, above all, with authentic flavors rarely found elsewhere. Each plate is generous, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. The butter chicken was incredibly tender with a rich and fragrant sauce, the chicken tikka was perfectly marinated and grilled, and the curries had a real depth of spice without being overpowering. Special mention also goes to the naans, served piping hot and soft, probably among the best I've ever had.
I also really appreciated the fact that the restaurant truly caters to families. The children's menu is particularly generous, which is quite rare and worth noting. The portions are substantial, allowing children to discover Indian cuisine in a very pleasant setting. A word of advice for parents, though: the chicken tandoori on the children's menu can still be quite spicy for some children sensitive to heat. That said, the staff is very attentive and doesn't hesitate to recommend the most suitable dishes based on age and preferences.
You can tell the ingredients are fresh and the food is prepared with passion. Even the side dishes and desserts are carefully prepared. The homemade lassi was excellent and provided a perfect touch of freshness to complement the spicy dishes.
The service also deserves a mention: the team is welcoming, friendly, and very attentive. You immediately feel at ease, with staff always ready to recommend dishes or adjust the spice level to suit individual tastes. This attentiveness makes the experience even more enjoyable.
What I particularly appreciated was the balance between the culinary quality and the exceptional setting. Many restaurants have a beautiful view but mediocre food, or vice versa. Here, both come together: authentic and flavorful Indian cuisine in a truly magnificent environment. Whether for a romantic dinner, a night out with friends, or a family meal, this is a place I recommend without hesitation.
In short, La Route du Kashmir is a real gem in Cergy: authentic Indian cuisine, bursting with flavor, a warm welcome, and above all, an exceptional terrace overlooking the Seine that makes the experience truly memorable. A must-try for all lovers of good food and beautiful places.
