Chakaiseki Akiyoshi sur Paris

The restaurant and service were pleasant, but the food did not live up to expectations or justify the price.

The explanations of the dishes were not always very audible or clear enough. We were thus unpleasantly surprised to discover additional charges on the bill that we hadn't understood when the dishes were presented. The price of the set menu seems high considering the culinary experience offered.

An authentic change of scenery, a fantastic journey to the heart of Japan.

A pleasant surprise during the lunch experience was the tea ceremony session, which would likely appeal to guests interested in traditional Japanese tea culture. The omakase was slightly disappointing—perhaps due to it being lunch—as the selection of ingredients was somewhat limited; that said, the chef's skill was evident even in the simple ingredients used. My favorite dish was the signature mackerel sushi, and the yokan(sweet bean jelly) dessert was excellent—it literally melted in the mouth.

Dinner was excellent. Thank you to the whole team for your hospitality and for this wonderful experience. Thank you also to the chef for sharing his story and offering suggestions. My first tea ceremony!

A moment of calm and culinary and cultural journey

A timeless moment and a journey to Japan right in the heart of Paris. It's a unique invitation to a tea ceremony, with all (or almost all) the stages: the decorations, the traditional dishes, and finally, the tea ceremony itself. We are, of course, guided by the chef and his cuisine (an unforgettable memory, the incredible complexity of the Dashi, despite being a simple, clear broth...) through Japanese traditions, and we end in silence, amazed and impressed by the strict codification, the simplicity elevated to perfection—and we know how difficult it is to achieve perfection with simple things. And I thank the entire team and the chef again for the exceptional attention they gave to the event I was celebrating at their establishment. It touched me deeply. Obviously, it's a must-do, but only if you want to glimpse a little of Japanese culture at its most beautiful.

I've been counting calories, and an app found this restaurant by analyzing my photos. It was our second visit with a friend. This pastry, with its green zest, was light and delicious. The setting is simple and quite peaceful.

A culinary journey to Japan right in the heart of Paris's 15th arrondissement! My daughter and I had a sublime experience where the essence (the food) and the style (the service, the ambiance, the setting) converged to create the same harmony we felt when we first discovered Japan a few years ago.
