Chateau de Matel sur Roanne

Beautiful castle, charming, very welcoming hosts, excellent breakfast, clean, soft and comfortable bedding. It was a wonderful stay, I highly recommend it!

Excellent welcome. Calm and relaxing

Overall, everything was very good. Bedding, welcome, breakfast, cleanliness. However, for seniors, be aware that there is no elevator (which is normal in a castle), and you have to carry your suitcases. We were kindly helped, though! One criticism: arriving at 5 p.m. is too late to enjoy the grounds when you leave the next morning. P

The château is in a beautiful setting and we received a very warm welcome from Olivier. The suit plus double room was ideal for our family group. We all enjoyed swimming in the pool which is nicely private. Breakfast had to be taken inside due to the weather but was copious and set us up nicely for the day.

We got married here 10 years ago. We came back for one night 10 years later. Lovely hosts, the best has really not lost its charm. Happy with our stay
