Cheval d'Or sur Paris

Great find! A little too spicy. Good.

We visited in July for a birthday celebration. We opted for the 9 course meal and we were so glad we did. Everything from start to finish was well executed. Every bite was flavoursome and intriguing. Modern french meets modern Chinese, what a great combination in flavours and techniques. To the simple refreshing tomato broth, crispy potato spring roll everything was so well executed. Particular favourites were the cold noodle salad, mapo tofu tortellini, the tartare and the har gow with lobster bisque was the ultimate flavour forward dish. I loved my meal here, every little dish in between and the little surprises along the way. Also the desserts were so lovely and light and sweet enough to finish our meal. Thank you ever so much, it left me thoroughly intrigued and inspired by this meal.

Such an amazing evening with great food, service and wine. My wife said this was her favourite meal she’s had in Paris! Lovely to see Australian hospitality kicking goals on the other side of the world.

The hipe is right. Thats an excellent restaurant with great food and an amazing service. 5 stars for all criteria. The food is a nice fusion of modern Asia and French. Great inspirations from different parts of Asia. Superb execution, the service is attentive and friendly but not exaggerated. The atmosphere is very nice especially thanks to the decor. The evening I had dinner there was a bit noisy but I guess it depends on the guests. Overall a great experience.

This was our first meal in Paris. Overall, the food was decent, but it didn’t quite live up to our expectations. Each dish appeared to be a fusion interpretation of East Asian (Chinese) cuisine. However, several of the sauces tasted rather diluted. For example, both the mapo tofu wontons and the tuna tartare came with sauces that reminded us of watered-down doubanjiang (fermented chili bean paste). One tofu dish was served with a sauce that tasted like diluted sesame paste. As people who are very familiar with East Asian cuisine, we didn’t find these flavors particularly unique or exciting. In fact, some of the sauces were quite similar to Lao Gan Ma chili crisp, making the overall flavor profile feel somewhat repetitive. Perhaps this was the chef’s intended style, but it wasn’t to our taste. One other downside was the dining environment. The restaurant had no air conditioning—only a single fan. Since the meal lasted more than two hours, the dining room became quite uncomfortable. By the end, we were simply hoping the remaining dishes would arrive quickly so we could finish our meal and step outside into cooler air.

This place and the cooking always impresses. Great vibe. And great value.

GIVE THEM A STAR ALREADY!!! One of the most beautiful, interesting, and delightful meals we've ever had. We were so excited about the French-Chinese concept, and it flows so smoothly that one must wonder how food allows us to explore the world and its possibilities. It also struck us how quiet and peaceful the kitchen seems. I was so focused on eating and enjoying every dish that I kept forgetting to take pictures. Lucky me!

Excellent restaurant, succulent dishes, very good wine recommendation perfectly suited to the food. The entire team was attentive and courteous. A huge thank you for this absolutely delicious dinner.
