I discovered this restaurant by chance two years ago. I wanted to return during a visit to the Calanques, and the food is still just as good; the fresh ingredients are prepared and cooked perfectly. The prices are a bit high, but it's right on the port of Cassis, facing the castle and the boats—the location is worth the price, and it's justified. I recommend it without hesitation.

Visited the restaurant as it was recommended for its bouillabaisse. We found the food was overpriced. Service was slow. Other than bouillabaise, the dishes were good. Perhaps bouillabaise is not for us.

I tried the bouillabaisse; it was delicious and very well presented.
I finished with a strawberry soup, which was excellent.
The only slight drawback was that we waited a little while to be served.

Great location right on the harbor of a beautiful city with lots of people around you… It's a lot of fun!
The dishes are ambitious (bouillabaisse, scallops, tuna tataki, etc.) but unfortunately not always "perfect" (e.g., sometimes cold or a bit disappointing).

We had a wonderful time at Chez Gilbert this Sunday, July 26, 2026.
We dined together in this charming restaurant located right across from a small fishing port, a truly delightful and enchanting setting.
The balmy summer evening, the seaside location, the peaceful atmosphere… everything came together perfectly for a lovely evening.
The welcome was warm and attentive, and the service was attentive and pleasant from beginning to end.
The dishes were delicious and beautifully presented, leaving us with a very fond memory.
It's a place we'd gladly return to for a simple, authentic, and charming dinner.

Good food.
The foie gras appetizer was magnificent.
The leg of lamb was quite good, although I would have preferred a slightly larger portion (I have a good appetite, so some will certainly appreciate the generous size).
On the other hand, if you're looking for a really good fish soup, this is THE place to go.
The service staff was excellent.
The setting is lovely, although a bit noisy as it's located on a very busy pedestrian street during peak season.
