We only had ice cream there, so my food rating is for the ice cream. The ice cream is good, but more expensive than at seaside restaurants of comparable quality. The terrace isn't very pleasant, especially with several smokers around.
Stopped by after a long hike during a hot August afternoon. The welcome by the owner was super friendly and we exchanged a few jokes. My son had a delicious waffle with chocolate and I had a panini with “mountain ham”, and drinks. All was delicious. They also have ice cream. It was perfect.
We were stuck in Vernet because the road was blocked by fires, but the owner was super friendly and recommended hikes in the area, making us sandwiches that were much more appealing than anything we'd find at the bakery. The ice cream on the way back was excellent. Top-notch!
