Our friends from Nantes had a fantastic lunch today! We had eclades (a type of baked ham) as appetizers, followed by special oysters and clams Charentaise-style – absolutely delicious!

A fantastic time, we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and the final bill was quite reasonable (crab claw, half a brown crab, eglade (don't miss it!!) and a Charentaise galette). The service was a little slow, but that's to be expected, it's busy, so if you're there to relax, it's fine. Reservations are highly recommended.

We had a reservation for Tuesday at 2 pm at Mamelou, but we were finally seated around 2:45 pm. We waited over 45 minutes without any apology or compensation from the staff... which is very disappointing. Furthermore, nothing is explained upon arrival. There's a queue 5 meters long, but you don't know if the customers have reservations or not, and you don't know if they booked for 1:45 pm, 2 pm, 2:15 pm, etc. So everyone is cutting in line... a real mess. If you're in a hurry and have plans for the afternoon, avoid this place. Once seated, the service is disorganized but very fast: the mussels arrive, then 5 minutes later the fries, then 10 minutes later the drinks... What we can't deny is the quality of the éclade (a traditional Alsatian dish of baked beans). We had never eaten it before, and it was delicious. In short, if you have the time, take it; the mussels are worth the wait, and we had a great time. ☺️
