The staff were very welcoming, smiling, and attentive to customers' wishes. The food was excellent and plentiful. The special oysters were superb, and don't miss the mussels with their delicious sauce. A truly excellent place.

Hello I'm half-born on the island and have been coming here for over 50 years. Mamelon is an institution. The place is magnificent (even if it changes a lot...) and the restaurant and shop at Mamelon is one of the highlights for those who love seafood or want to discover it... The quality is simply exceptional, the freshness impeccable, and the price quite reasonable (7 euros for a dozen No. 1 oysters, for example... which I highly recommend). The owner is a local character. The service is very friendly and welcoming... and the owner's advice is often interesting and helpful. The place feels very touristy... but the spirit of Oléron still reigns at Mamelon. Mamelon is one of the two places I rely on for oysters (being from La Cotinière, I sometimes stray from them 😀).
