Chez Marius sur Gemenos

After my somewhat mixed review last year, I'm revising my opinion. I work nearby and come here occasionally at lunchtime during my break. The food has improved significantly, and the value for money is very good. There's a set menu for €20 during the week, including a starter and main course. It's well-presented and the portions are quite generous. Just better organization to avoid long waits, especially for those who work afterwards, would make a big difference. The setting remains very pleasant.

I'd heard about this restaurant for a long time, and finally I took the plunge; my partner introduced me to it. And quite honestly, it lived up to all the hype. First of all, the welcome was incredibly warm; you're truly well received by smiling, welcoming staff. For an aperitif, we had two mojitos: finally, a real mojito, perfectly balanced and very generous. The menu was very varied and comprehensive, with diverse dishes to suit all tastes, catering to all lovers of local cuisine, meat, and fish. The dishes were typically Provençal, reminding us that we were indeed in the land of Marcel Pagnol. We didn't go there just to eat, but rather to have an exceptional culinary experience. Finally, a restaurant that has managed to retain the essence of a truly welcoming, family-run establishment. My partner and I thoroughly enjoyed our meal, from appetizer to dessert; the meat was cooked to perfection. We also appreciated the misting system on the terrace, which made the meal extremely pleasant given the heatwave. If I have one piece of advice for anyone reading this review: Take the time to truly savor a good meal and discover the dishes at Marius. You'll discover healthy, entirely homemade cuisine. The restaurant is impeccably clean and meets all the standards one would expect from a truly excellent establishment. A big thank you to the staff who welcome you as if you were a regular customer. This is exactly the kind of restaurant that deserves our support by eating there regularly. Personally, I will gladly return as often as possible.

We were with friends on a Friday night and the evening was incredible. Despite the crowd, the staff was super efficient. The servers were amazing (attentive, kind, and funny). The food was top-notch, flavorful, and delicious. The atmosphere was great! There was some nice background music. The place was clean and well-maintained. Thank you!

Good evening, my partner and I came to eat at your restaurant. When we ordered, we asked for an Italian pizza for her and a simple cheese pizza for me. When she arrived, she received the pizza she had ordered, but I received the wrong one. I forced myself to eat it so as not to waste it. My partner was stared at several times, which is unacceptable. It seems to me that every customer has the right to order as they wish. I hope this will not happen again, and in the future, all the servers should have a handheld device to take orders. They should all use it, not just one server. Thank you in advance.

Excellent! Delicious food. A menu to satisfy all tastes. Very pleasant setting with fans and misters on the terrace, very welcome during this heatwave! Quick service, attentive and friendly waiter. We came for our wedding anniversary. I highly recommend it! 👍🏻

A beautiful, large, shaded terrace where you can enjoy everything from Provençal specialties to a delicious ribeye steak or pizzas! The Baked Alaska is HUGE: it's best to order it for two people.

A very warm welcome; the staff were pleasant, discreet, and efficient. The beef tartare was excellent. The fries were a little too lukewarm. We will return.

It's been over 35 years since my last visit, and what a pleasure it is to find that the quality is still there! Easy parking, a warm welcome, delicious food, top-notch service, and an exceptional setting reminiscent of Marius and Fanny's. An excellent place that I recommend without hesitation.
