24/03/2026: Dining at Le Cheval Rouge remains an overall positive experience, enhanced by its tastefully decorated and pleasant setting. On the plate, the cuisine is traditional French, emphasizing quality ingredients and a rather good level of technical skill. I particularly appreciated the limited menu, which is often an excellent indicator of seasonal produce and homemade preparation. While the dishes are well-executed, they lack a touch of originality to truly surprise the palate. The service, although professional and efficient, could benefit from a more personal touch to complete the experience. A slight disappointment came at the end of the meal with dessert: a lemon macaron with ice cream, whose texture was too hard and sticky, not doing justice to the rest of the menu. As for the bill, it was a little high considering the simplicity of the offerings, although the prime location, directly opposite the grounds of the Château de Rambouillet, undoubtedly explains the price point. In summary, it is a serious and recommendable restaurant for lovers of tradition, although a few adjustments could make the experience perfect.
