Crapule sur Vannes

This restaurant was recommended to us by the guesthouse we were staying in, and we couldn’t have been more delighted (in fact we came back the night after). Beautifully presented food, with wonderful staff, and an exquisite wine list. Highly, highly recommended 🇫🇷🍷😍

The impression upon entering this restaurant is rather mixed, particularly the somewhat cluttered entrance! The meal itself was decent enough, but not quite a 5-star experience, especially considering the bill, which I found excessively high for what was offered.

We came to this restaurant for lunch and ordered the set lunch menu. The starter and main course were good, but the desserts were unremarkable. The waitress was very friendly. However, we have serious doubts about the hygiene of this restaurant. The felt bread basket was full of hair, the napkins were unironed, the granulated sugar was soggy, there was a small chocolate bar next to the unwrapped coffee, and the stairs leading upstairs were unimaginably filthy. We seriously questioned the kitchen's cleanliness. We won't be going back.

The food was excellent, the dishes were very good and served quickly. However, given the prices, we expected more pleasant service. The waiter upstairs seemed very rushed and unwelcoming, giving us the impression that we were bothering them even though we weren't doing anything in particular. It's a shame, because it marred what could have been a very positive experience. We probably won't return despite the quality of the food. It's worth noting that the gentleman on the ground floor was very friendly.

Original and high-quality, each dish has a creative touch that sets it apart and gives it that extra something. Nice wine list. Pleasant service and, as they say, two rooms, two atmospheres... upstairs is quieter and downstairs is more lively. I highly recommend it.

It's very good. Take a seat at the counter: you'll be treated to a culinary choreography. Passing through Vannes alone, I brought a book. I didn't open it.
