Hey American tourists visiting Nice, you’ve got to visit this tiny restaurant near Place Grimaldi that specializes in Barbajuans, a culinary specialty whose origin is disputed but some say Monaco. It’s a very thin translucent pastry, filled, and then deep-fried. Don’t let the hole in the wall appearance fool you, the owner Frank has original flavors, including Menton lemon, in addition to the classic Swiss chard and zucchini. I’ve tasted the classic ones throughout this part of the Côte d’Azur and D’Aqui is the best.

Local shop. Very tasty. You have to get there early for the pumpkin blossoms, though, as they sell out quickly.

I journeyed here with the hope of trying several Niçois specialties at once: Socca, Barbajuan, Trouchia. Unfortunately, when I arrived at around 16:00, I was told they had sold out for the day, so keep this in mind. Nevertheless, the one item I could get – barbajuan – was delicious. I tried several flavours, with the goat's cheese and chorizo being a favourite.

Excellent little Niçoise dishes, always fresh and crispy, which you can customize to your liking and depending on the time of day. A true expertise, an address to remember! For us working people, this is where we have our lunch breaks.

04/10/2026: Absolutely the best food we had in Nice in the last month. Incredible Italian food, it all tastes amazing. Be prepared for huge portions. Reservations are absolutely necessary if you want a table right away. We saw people waiting for two hours for a table. Service is fantastic and the ambiance absolutely charming.
03/10/2026: A neighborhood gem. A welcoming atmosphere, delicious Italian food in abundance, reasonable prices, and the nicest, warmest staff. A place this good fills up fast, so make a reservation either by phone or on their Instagram account.

11/10/2026: Great place and delicious pancakes. The attentive waitress brought our order quickly. I liked the place; if you're looking for a bite to eat within the old town, I definitely recommend it.
07/10/2026: We came here to have our final lunch before departing Nice and my what a lunch it was. I suggested to my friends that Crepes would be a great option as they hadn't had any in France so far during our trip. This couldn't have been more perfect. The waiter immediately found us a table, there is not booking here so make sure you come when it's less busy! As there was only two people running the place, one for the tables and one for the cooking (presumably the owners as well?) service was slightly slower than it could have been but that is all forgiven due to how efficient they were with the amount of tables they have. Two of us ordered the formule which is incredibly generous (one savoury and one sweet pancake) and two of us ordered one savoury pancake as we couldn't eat two. The savoury pancakes came out first, and there were absolutely zero complains from anyone. I thoroughly enjoyed my Basquaise Galette, lovely and crispy with a comforting filling. Demolished in short order. For the location, the price and charming service. Yes the waiter was very lovely and spoke very good English but was happy to converse with us in our broken French haha If you're in Nice and craving a Crepe, this is the place to go!
