The food was okay (although a bit too high in sugar and salt). However, as I read in other reviews, the man who served us was very unpleasant. Not a smile from beginning to end, no polite words (and it wasn't for lack of trying on our part!); we really felt like we were bothering him. Even a simple "goodbye" seemed excessive to him. I still gave it two stars because the woman behind the counter was kind and smiling.

The pho I had was very good, and the portion was generous for the price, compared to other restaurants in the 13th arrondissement that serve less for more money. My friends tried their loclac (the beef looked almost grilled/crispy on the outside), three treasures, buncha, and crispy vermicelli with stir-fried beef (I don't know the name of the dish), and they all gave it their seal of approval. A nice neighborhood spot for unpretentious Vietnamese food.

Chez Joy

05/10/2026: You absolutely must eat here and nowhere else, and you must try everything because they master it all perfectly. They are lovely and fast; this is where you eat well.
24/09/2026: We discovered this restaurant completely by chance. We lived in Thailand for a few years and are quite familiar with Thai cuisine. We asked if the food was truly Thai, and the person replied that it was, as she is Vietnamese/Thai. Indeed, it was authentic Thai food; we thoroughly enjoyed it. We ordered a papaya salad with sticky rice, which was pure bliss, just like in Thailand. I highly recommend this restaurant. The prices and service were excellent; a must-try!
