Frietkot sur Bourg-Argental

A Belgian specialty spot that's hard to find. It may not look like much, but you can get good quality snacks at a reasonable price. The authentic flavors of fried food are definitely there! The village terrace, next to several brasseries, offers a pleasant atmosphere (although it's right on the road). Service can be a little slow at times, but it's satisfactory for the price range. I recommend this little restaurant; it's a great place to stop on the way to Annonay.

On a Friday evening during the off-season, the owner was single-handedly running the show, or rather, handling both the kitchen and the service with several unexpected tables. This didn't prevent us from being served promptly and enjoying simple, tasty food. The owner might seem a bit gruff, but he proved to be an efficient host. A minor complaint about the Liège waffles.

Everything is homemade, a warm welcome from Belgium, and the food is excellent.
