Fujiyama sur Vernon

Fast, very good choice, top-notch

You might ask, "Why would I dine at a Japanese restaurant when visiting Vernon?" In our case, we enjoy French food, but need a break now and then. We discovered Fujiyama while exploring Vernon, before our visit to nearby Giverny. We were more than pleasantly surprised. The sushi, sashimi and rolls offered in their "Love Boat" offering for two was fresh, fabulous and extremely reasonable by US standards. We even got a bottle of decent French white wine for 15 Euros.The other options on the menu looked awesome, too. Be aware that this is not a fancy place by any means. There is comfortable seating and the service was fine. However, the vast majority of their business is take-out, with a steady stream of locals, who seem to know a great deal when they see one.

"Honestly, for the price, excellent makis!" That's what I would have said if I'd bought them at the supermarket. Here, meh. It's rare, but here the makis are lacking in rice.
