06/12/2025: Mochi Coffee was a wonderful discovery. I ordered a small set menu of onigiri, soup, and mochi, along with a chai latte, all of which were delicious. I also left with a box of mochi to take away, which I can't wait to try. Thank you for the excellent service. I'll be back.

01/07/2026: Excellent restaurant! The menu offers a wide variety of options. We almost forgot to pick up our order and arrived a little late, but the menu had been saved for us. We received a very warm welcome. And everything was delicious; the fish in the sashimi was high quality, and the ginger wasn't overly colored. I was disappointed not to have sushi, maki, and sashimi set menus, but the food quality was top-notch, and that's what matters most.

14/07/2026: This restaurant is a rare gem in Lyon. I truly had a gastronomic experience; simply put, everything was perfect. Let's start with the dining room, whose decor transports you to another place with its zen and nostalgic ambiance. The lighting is soft, and the room is bathed in tranquility. In short, from the moment you arrive, everything is in place to create the perfect atmosphere for what awaits you. The service is on par with everything else. The dishes are served promptly, and if needed, the staff can advise you on the best sake to accompany your meal, explain the ingredients, and even suggest how to best enjoy each course throughout your culinary journey. And finally, the cuisine, which is simply exceptional. Chef Yong-Joo Kim is an artist; there wasn't a single false note. Everything was meticulously planned to achieve the perfect combination of flavors. He even reconciled me with certain foods I thought I didn't like, such as his special eel sushi, which is one of the best on his 'wasabi' menu. Even the desserts blew me away, and I'm not usually one for sweets, but the two desserts on their menu were both delicious and light. As you've probably gathered from these few lines, I highly recommend this restaurant to all sushi lovers in Lyon looking to enjoy authentic Japanese dishes that showcase exceptional ingredients with just the right amount of flavor.

29/06/2026: We tried this restaurant for the first time by ordering takeout. We were greeted by a very kind person. Everything was delicious; it was the best sushi I've ever had. Everything was fresh and flavorful, and it was great value for money. The coleslaw and miso soup were also very good. You can tell it's homemade. We'll definitely be back!

19/06/2026: Great experience but a few things missing to make it a 5/5 for the price tag. I came to Komatrubaki for dinner with a reservation which I highly recommend doing as I believe it is necessary. The restaurant has two floors with the bathroom being on the first and main dining area on the second. The dining area was clean, well decorated and welcoming but the bathroom on the other hand was surprisingly dirty in comparison, with toilet paper on the floor and an empty soap container. When we came in, everyone was seated at the bar. The chef and sous-chef were preparing their mise en place. A few positive things to note were the fact that they used fresh ingredients such as freshly grated wasabi which is expected at this price point. The next point that took away from the experience was the very slow service from the staff. Although the chef was preparing the courses in a timely and responsive manner, it took a long time for us to receive our beverages. Everyone, including those that came later had already received theirs and the first few courses had already come out until we finally got out beverages. Afterwards, the waiters did not refill our water or ask if we wanted to order any other drinks. Other than those two points which unfortunately bring down my total assessment for Komatrubaki, the food was quite flavorful and light and the service from the head chef was friendly and attentive. There were a few dishes that I felt were slightly overcooked and under seasoned but overall the dishes were very good. All in all, I hope Komatrubaki takes a look into these issues in order for future guests to really receive a 5 star experience. If you staying in the area and want some good Japanese food, I would recommend this spot but I would not go out of my way to come here.

Every detail was flawless—from the seasonal touches and meticulous craftsmanship to the beautiful presentation and thoughtfully chosen tableware. Most importantly, the food itself was outstanding. Even though I dined alone, the chef and those around me were warm and welcoming, which made the experience especially enjoyable and memorable. I’m truly glad I discovered this place during my trip to Paris, and I highly recommend it.

26/06/2026: A Japanese restaurant that markets itself as traditional and does indeed offer fairly traditional dishes, but unfortunately, they're not well executed. The eel is okay. The salmon too. The temaki and maki are a disaster. Add to that the incredibly slow and disorganized service... It's definitely not up to scratch.

17/07/2026: I had a wonderful time at Inagiku. The food is high-quality, well-executed, and the teppanyaki concept is perfectly mastered. I also appreciated the option to choose from three set menus at different price points: it's an excellent idea that makes the experience accessible to all tastes and budgets. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff is friendly, attentive, and does their utmost to ensure you have a good time. The only slight drawback, in my opinion, concerns the authenticity of the experience. Despite the team's kindness and professionalism, it lacks that little something extra that you often find in establishments where the service is provided by Japanese staff. It's not a question of service quality, but rather that cultural touch that enhances the immersion in a teppanyaki restaurant. Nevertheless, it remains a very good place that I recommend for discovering or rediscovering this cuisine.
