Authentic French cuisine in a lovely street steps from Saint-Germain-des-Prés Church. Very nice atmosphere, great service and great food. You need to try their homemade riz au lait !
Updated 2024: the bistro has been sold and is operating under new owners. Our recent experience was not as positive ;-(
Leaving the old review for posterity:
We had an amazing meal at this quirky and quintessential bistro, recommended by a Parisian friend who has been eating there for decades. In fact, it was so good, we are coming back to Paris next month to have another meal there.
Sit inside for the authentic experience. The staff are really friendly and will advise you well on the menu and wine.
Each dish was delicious but the roasted marrow bone starter, the garlic potatoes served with the duck, and the chocolate mousse were truly exceptional.
Bring cash, because they don't take credit cards. Don't let that hold you back, though. It is very reasonable for the quality of the food and the location. We each had three courses plus coffee, and we had a lovely bottle of red wine, and it was under 100 euros.
If like me you love La Grille Montorgueil, you will love Little Saint Bernard. When you go from the right bank to the left bank you will find a warm welcome and a tasty menu 😊
A confident bistro cuisine, which is not (only) for tourists. The menu is very traditional but the dishes are very well cooked, with quality products at reasonable prices. Precious details, like the bread, excellent, and the mayonnaise, which is real mayonnaise without the awful taste of preservatives.
Discovered by chance, we will return with pleasure.
