A great boulangerie, small in size but offering great classic products like croissants and baguettes, as well as crepes, sandwiches, and other typical Parisian delicacies. The service is quick and very polite.

Discovered during my explorations of Paris, the boulangerie "Au grain de blé" presents itself as a small and inviting reference point for artisanal bread-making. For this stop, I wanted to test out both the mainstay of bread-making and the quintessential baked good, and the overall result was decidedly satisfying. The bread—a beautiful baguette rich in seeds—proved to be of excellent quality and very fragrant, although the oven was a touch too generous: I found it a bit overcooked, with the crust pushed a touch past the ideal golden brown. The real highlight of the stop, however, was the flan: simply delicious, delicious. A slice of exemplary consistency, with a dense, velvety cream encased in a perfect shell and enhanced by that typical charring on the surface that gives it a deliciousness from times gone by. A well-deserved four stars for a place that works seriously and offers great pleasure in baked pastries.
