Our first experience at this restaurant was a great success! We were served by Elias, who was very warm and friendly from beginning to end. He gave us excellent advice on our menu choices. A big thank you to Elias; thanks to him, our delicious meal was made all the more enjoyable by the friendly interactions. I highly recommend it; we thoroughly enjoyed it!

Sometimes you just expect to fill your belly, to silence the rumbling monster above your waistline. But you don't always expect to have a pleasant encounter. Thanks to Elias, I went from a simple meal to a wonderful memory, a truly memorable experience. His service was impeccable; he's discreet but doesn't deprive you of his cheerful gaze and subtle jokes, which dispel the awkwardness that can sometimes arise between server and customer. While this is a typical Hippopotamus restaurant in terms of its menu (decent food, ample portions, and prices slightly above average), the staff makes it special. Thank you to Elias and his team. He's a great guy.

We went there with friends, the meat was excellent, and the fries were great too! Our waiter Elias gave us very good advice on both the food and the wines. I highly recommend it.

12/06/2026: We are from Berlin and came to Versailles to visit the palace. We were running quite late and absolutely needed to buy some macarons to bring back home for our friends and family. Unfortunately, by the time we arrived, all the shops in Paris would already have been closed, and here as well we only arrived shortly before closing time. The next morning, our flight back to Berlin was leaving very early. In other words, this was our last chance to get some macarons. And what can I say? We were not disappointed at all. Lisa was incredibly kind to us and spoke excellent English, which made the shopping experience and her recommendations very enjoyable. We even had time for a bit of small talk. All in all, it was a 10/10 experience! If we are ever in the area again, we would be very happy to come back and hope that Lisa is still there. Warm greetings from Berlin! 😊
