HOKKAIDO sur Rouen

I discovered this restaurant in 2022, and since then I've enjoyed returning occasionally to savor their specialty, teppanyaki, on special occasions. It's a shame that some reviews focus exclusively on other dishes :/ and that people dare to claim the staff isn't Japanese when they are! The staff is very friendly and has always done their best to please everyone on each of our visits 🙏 and I definitely plan to return soon. I'm very happy with the teppanyaki and I'm happy to serve you.

I've been a regular at Hokkaido for over six years now, and the quality has remained remarkably consistent. It's the kind of place you can recommend without hesitation; it inspires complete confidence. The welcome is always warm, and the service is efficient, attentive, and consistently reliable. You feel expected, and the team helps create a friendly atmosphere that makes you want to return. A special mention goes to the chef, who is as charming as he is talented. Always smiling, humble, and passionate, he demonstrates great technical skill and a genuine respect for the ingredients. His expertise shines through in each of his creations, executed with precision and consistency. On the plate, the freshness of the ingredients is immediately apparent. The fish is of excellent quality, the cuts are precise, and each preparation perfectly highlights the flavors. The mastery is unwavering, never succumbing to trends: here, the product is at the heart of the experience. After all these years, the pleasure remains undiminished. This consistency, both in the quality of the cuisine and the service, is rare enough to be worth highlighting. Hokkaido is a true gem in Rouen, an establishment that remains true to itself and where one always returns with the same pleasure. Remember to book on Friday and Saturday evenings.

We had a wonderful evening. I highly recommend the teppanyaki, and if possible, ask for a table right by the teppanyaki grill! Watching the chef cook is a real treat; the flavors are truly delicious, and the service is impeccable! We'll definitely be back, thank you!
